Irene is responsible for asthma clinics, blood pressure clinics, diabetes and heart disease clinics. Irene can also offer advice on weight management, diet and many other health-related issues including smoking cessation. She also takes blood, offers cervical screening, administers travel vaccinations, administers adult vaccinations, runs the annual influenza programme for patients over 65 years and patients with a specific illness, syringes ears, dresses wounds, and removes stitches.
She works in the practice on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Appointments are available in the mornings and afternoons and can be arranged by telephoning the practice on 0141 429 0913. Please note that the previously available open access (no appointments required/first come, first served) clinic has been discontinued. We found that this sometimes led to excessively long waits for patients.
There will be no practice nurse in the surgery on Tuesday and Friday. If any patient needs dressings or suture removal on those two days, we have access to the Govan Health Centre treatment room nurses. Please speak to our reception staff if you need access to the treatment room services.
Mairi is the Practice Administrator
Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.
Our district nurses provide an excellent service in the community, visiting and caring for our housebound patients. They are also based at Elderpark Clinic and can be contacted on 0141 355 2180.
Jacqui and her team are based at Elderpark Clinic and can be contacted on 0141 531 8429.
